Featured in this lot we have a 1811 Middle Eastern percussion cap and ball camel rifle inlayed with mother of pearl and chambered in .54 gauge. The musket displays a 49" long round barrel heavy iron barrel with faired muzzle and etched / carved accents, hardwood stock, flintlock action, and inlayed mother of pearl. The piece shows a typical pattern hardwood stock having the butt stock area curving drastically. The barrel is secured to the stock with five barrels bands that are constructed of brass. The rifle shows wonderful flintlock lock plate stamped with a lion design and "1811". The stock is inlayed with numerous carved geometric pieces of mother of pearl. The hammer and trigger are both free to move, with a tight action. The overall gun shows a rich mellow and dark patina which would lend to its early age. These rifles would have been used in Middle Eastern countries such as Turkey and Afghanistan while on camel and horse back. No Serial Number. This firearm qualifies as an Antique, and does not require FFL Transfer or NICS Background Check.
