Featured in this lot we have a French epee decorated small sword with mother of pearl scales originating from 1815. The piece shows a short steel blade with decorated brass guard and handle with mother of pearl grips. The piece is from just after Nepoleon and is designed as a dress or ceremonial sword. The blade shows steel construction with a traditional diamond shape with fullers along each side. The guard is a traditional shell with attached D guard with embossed floral and animal designs. The grip shows brass construction with tooled designs and mother of pearl scales on either side. The piece shows good condition overall with some wear due to age. The sword measures23 1/2" long with the blade measuring 19 1/4" long.
