Offered in this lot we have a matching set of Sheffield Lion Pisont sash pins originating from 1842 to 1843. The set shows sterling silver construction with etched designs. The face of each of the pins features four sections of engraved geometric patterns bordered by floral patterns. The pieces are marked across the back reading "Sterling" along with a mark showing a ornate "T" with a crown and lion to the sides. The pins are used for sash decoration and where also used to decorate Scottish kilts. The two pieces show good condition with one showing signs of repair on one clasp. The pins measure 2 1/4" wide by 1 1/2" tall.
