Featured in this lot is this RARE first edition of "My Life on the Plains" written by General George A. Custer and published in 1874. The book features a gilt decorated cover and spine showing the image of a buffalo. The book chronicles General Custer's service with the 7th Cavalry after the Civil War. Custer served on the Western Frontier as a noted Indian fighter and was tragically killed at the Battle of the Little Bighorn in 1876. This book shows numerous illustrations throughout. The condition of this book shows wear to the outside spine of the book and to the red cloth wrapping and gilt lettering of the cover with the inside spine showing significant damage and the pages showing browning consistent with the age of the book. The measurements of this book is 9 1/4" x 6". The collective weight of this book is 1lb 6oz.
