Francis Parkman (1823-1893) was an American historian and valued for his works an was one of the most notable historians. This book features detailed accounts of the hardships experienced while traveling across mountains and prairies; vibrant portraits of emigrants and Western wildlife; and vivid descriptions of Indian life and culture. The book features a marbled board front cover and gold gilt lettering and designs on the spine. The edges of the pages are marbled as well. The book shows good condition with wear to the front cover and spine consistent with age. The interior pages show good condition with no signs of tears or foxing present. The book measures 8" L x 5 5/8" W x 1 1/4" D.
