Featured in this lot is an illustrated "Woman On The Frontier" by William W. Fowler from 1878. The history of our race is the record mainly of men's achievements, in war, in statecraft and diplomacy. If mention is made of woman it is of queens and intriguing beauties who ruled and schemed for power and riches, and often worked mischief and ruin by their wiles. The story of woman's work in great migrations has been told only in lines and passages where it ought instead to fill volumes. This book features stories of the women who paved their way in the New Frontier and more. The front cover features an embossed title with gold coloring and embossed designs throughout the front, back and spine. The spine features the title and the author in gold embossed lettering. This book was published by Hartford: S. S. Scranton & Co. in 1878 and copyrighted by the same company in 1876. The book is in good condition with wear to the cover and spine consistent with its vintage age. The interior pages are in good condition with no signs of foxing or tearing. The book measures 8 3/4" L x 6 1/4" W x 1 3/4" D.
