Featured in this lot is this Tombstone, A.T. Derringer Pistol woman's purse / prostitutes purse circa 1880, used by prostitutes of the era often referred to as soiled doves; Provenance: From the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum in Tombstone, Arizona; This purse also comes with paperwork confirming the Provenance of Tombstone origin being bought in 1977 from Burton Devere who owned and operated the Famous Rose Tree Inn Museum in Tombstone. The purse features a wonderfully and professionally crafted hide and metal construction that shows the shape of a derringer with a clasp at the top like a purse that opens and closes. This derringer comes complete with a letter of provenance confirming the origins of this purse coming from Tombstone and the Deveres family and signed by Joe Doebbing a well known collector in the space. The purse also comes with an original museum tag that reads as follows: 1880 Derringer Purse from Tombstone - TT-42. The condition of this derringer purse is well preserved with no obvious signs of damage to the purse and shows an overall well preserved condition. The measurements of this derringer purse is 3 1/8" x 6 1/2". The collective weight of this derringer purse is U4oz. TT-42
