Featured in this lot is this Harper's Weekly Frederic Remington born in 1861 and died in 1909; wood engraving circa 1888 called "Her First Muskallonge". The artwork features a wonderfully and professionally crafted wood engraving newspaper construciton that shows a scene of two men and a girl fishing in a canoe on a lake with an island and the shoreline in the distance. Frederic Remington signed the piece in the bottom left hand corner. The backside of the framed artwork shows a Certificate of Authenticity from Seaside Art Gallery and shows a register # of 00000/2590. The condition of this framed wood engraving is good with no obvious signs of damage and shows good overall condition. The measurements of this framed wood engraving is 16 5/8" x 14 3/8" and the visible artwork measures 11 1/4" x 8 7/8".
