Presented in this lot is this Rare Winchester Rep. Arms Co. Model 1891 Hand Reloading Tool in .40-65, patent date Mar. 17, 1891. This highly collectible, 19th-century plier-type reloading press. Designed primarily as an essential accessory for the iconic Winchester Model 1886 rifle, these hand tools were developed to full length resize cartridge cases as they were being reloaded. These were eventually replaced by the much smaller and lighter 1894 reloading tool. The condition of this reloading tool is good, original finish still visible with no obvious signs of damage, slight oxidation visible. Measures 3.75"W x 9.125"L x 2"D, weight is 2lb, 12oz.
