The lot features two sets of circa 1894-1910's Yellowstone National Park Haynes Photographer playing card sets. Both sets show a dark blue and gold Yellowstone Park Old Faithful image on the backside of the cards. The first set in the red box has gilt gold lettering and the original US gambling tax stamp attached, marked on the front, "YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK SOUVENIR PLAYING CARDS PUBLISHED BY THE OFFICIAL PHOTOGRAPHER HAYNES ST. PAUL ST. PAUL, MINN., U.S.A." On the back the example card is the 3 of hears with the Northern Entrance Arch, 16208 J.E. Haynes, St. Paul image. This set also has the original Auction Bridge rules card. Each card has a different original Haynes Yellowstone image with a colorized tint including the image title, number and photographer mark, including the Buffalo Joke, titled, "A Buffalo Bull (Bison), 21202 J.E. Haynes, St. Paul". The next set, a purple edition has the same gilt lettering. This also has the same design with a different Haynes photo on each card with title, etc. Red deck has a total of 54 cards (52 number and face cards, 1 Joker and 1 rules card). Purple deck has a total of 53 cards (52 number and face cards and 1 Joker). Each case is 3 5/8-inches by 3-inches by 7/8-inches.
