Included in this lot is 18th Century Louis XV Marquetry and Parquetry Inlaid Provincial Walnut Side Table. The eighteenth century is considered the Golden age of French furniture. It was during this time that the most refined and beautiful Royal furniture was made in the busy Paris workshops of Europe's elite cabinet makers. The establishment of furniture guilds led to unparalleled furniture craftsmanship. That, along with the historical significance of this period of furniture, makes Louis XV pieces some of the most sought-after items today. This side table features a floral design marquetry and parquetry tray top above three front drawers with two locking, one side drawer on top right, key included fits all three, four ornate escutcheons. Over the drawers is a pull-out counter top covered with leather. Table stands on four tapered legs with brass leg tips. The table is in preserved condition, the natural condition of the wood is visible consistent with the nature-inspired focus of the Louis XV period. Measures 12.5"W x 19.25"L x 29.5"H and weighs 22 pounds.
