Featured in this lot is this Human Life Magazine: The capture of Geronimo circa 1907 and displayed at the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum; Provenance: From the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum in Tombstone, Arizona. The magazine features a wonderfully and professionally crafted construction that features Geronimo on the cover and an article inside recording his capture. The February 1907 issue of Human Life magazine featured an article detailing the capture of Geronimo, the renowned Apache leader. The piece chronicled Geronimo's final surrender on September 4, 1886, marking the end of the Apache resistance against U.S. expansion. It highlighted the extensive efforts by the U.S. military, which deployed a significant portion of its forces to apprehend him, underscoring the challenges faced in subduing the Apache resistance. The article also shed light on Geronimo's life post-capture, noting his status as a prisoner of war and his participation in public events, such as the 1904 St. Louis World's Fair, where he became a symbol of the "vanishing" Native American. The condition of this Human Life magazine is well preserved with some wear to the spine of the magazine and shows browning to the pages consistent with age. The measurements of this of this magazine is 15 1/8" x 10 3/4". The collective weight of this magazine is U4oz.
