Featured in this lot is this Crockett silver mounted bridle bit, circa 1910-1920's. The bit features a slight curb bit with solid, unmoving silver mounted shanks and a 5" pull to the shank. In 1920, Crockett bought Shipley’s bit and spur making department and started the Crockett Bit and Spur Company. Crockett produced a wide array of styles and published catalogs to advertise them. If there was a popular style cowboys were looking for, Crockett made sure he could sell it to them. Since then, these pieces have become highly collectible. The condition of this bit is good, with a slight warping to the left shank of the bit and some wear to the silver overlay adorning the shank due to age and usage. The measurements of this bit are 7 7/8" x 6 1/4" x 2 5/8".
