For your consideration is this 1927 1st edition of, "The War Chief" by Edgar Rice Burroughs, copy-righted by the author and published by Grosset & Dunlap. Edgar Rice Burroughs (1875-1950) was an American author best known for his prolific output in the adventure, science fiction, and fantasy genres, and especially for creating the characters Tarzan and John Carter. The War Chief is a realistic historical novel about life and death on an Apache reservation during the final years of the Apache wars until the death of Cochise and the surrender of Geronimo. The book shows a red cloth with black lettering and embossed profile image of an Apache. The book is in good condition with little wear to the cover, edges and spine of the book. The interior pages are in good condition with no signs of tears or foxing. The book measures 7 1/2" L x 5 1/8" W x 1 1/4" D.
