For your bidding pleasure in this lot is a 1929 first edition of "Sioux Memory Gems" poem book by Myrtle Miller Anderson. Myrtle Miller was 21 years old when she married John A. Anderson, the Manager of the J. P. Jordan Indian Trading post in the Rosebud Indian Reservation in South Dakota, and went to live with him in 1893. The book is illustrated with photographs taken by her husband, John A. Anderson. Myrtle's poems honor the Native American families she came to love while living among them, mourning their loss. The book has a faux leather tool cover and glossy heavy paper pages. The cover of the book has some wear, but the inside pages are in very good condition for their almost 100-year age. The book measures 10 5/8" x 8" x 1/2".
