Included in this lot is a Bijar Persian, hand knotted, wool runner rug, originating from the 1930's. The rug features a fine detailed design, bright colors, and a tight weave. The Bijar Persian rugs are hand woven in the town of Bijar and the surrounding villages located northwest of Iran in the Kurdistan province. The Bijar rugs are known for their high durability and compact weave. The piece displays colorful tree patterns on the side, a large medallion at the center, and a triple border showing geometric flower designs. The piece shows a tight weave with colors of red, blue, white, orange, green, pink, and black. The piece shows good condition overall, with little wear and use. The rug measures 40 1/2" wide by 91" long.
