Featured in this lot is this classic Tanzanite and diamond, 14k white gold necklace with AIG paperwork. The necklace pendant is from renowned designer Orianne Collins and is marked, "ORIANNE 14K”. The solid 14 karat white gold pendant and chain features a fine, high quality triangular modified brilliant cut natural Tanzanite with a total weight of 5.81 carats, excellent Violetish-Blue deep coloring, and fine clarity. The center stone is decorated by a triangle shape halo ring with a total of 32 prong set brilliant cut diamonds showing clarity of VS-2 to SI-2 and a coloration gradient of G - H. This is a wonderful necklace, the best quality that money can buy. Tanzanite is a very rare precious gemstone that is only found in the Usumburu Mountains that border the Umba Valley of northern Tanzania. It was originally discovered in 1967 by Tiffany & Company, who named the stone Tanzanite. This example is unique due to its exceptional pleochroism (an optical phenomenon in which a stone has different colors when observed at different angles).The piece has been certified and found to be an authentic example by AIG (American Interanational Gemolgists, a GIA certified gemologist AIG#: 000721083000) and appraised for $18,650.
