Included in this lot is a Kashan Persian hand knotted wool area rug originating from the 1930's. This is a wonderfully patterned Persian rug from a city in the northern part of Isfahan province, Iran. The rug features lovely designs and a high thread count. The medallion and corner pattern on an ornately patterned floral field is a trademark of Kashan rugs. The colors used in the design are usually a combination of deep blues, rich reds, and ivory with occasional splotches of yellow, green, and burnt orange. The rug features four borders, each showing geometric floral designs. The piece shows good condition overall, with little wear and use. The rug measures 117" wide by 149" long.
