The rug features a white field with a large stepped medallion in the center of the rug and bands of red and black with a lovely border of geometric pattern decorated red border. The rug is uniquely constructed from two rugs made specifically to weave together, as the seam can be seen in the center of the rug. The town has a pre-Hispanic weaving tradition and is world famous for its fine tapestries and wall hangings decorated with traditional Zapotec and Mixtec fretwork, idols, animals, or reproductions of famous creations by artists like Diego Rivera, Pablo Picasso, and M.C. Esher. The condition of this rug is good, with no obvious signs of damage. The measurements of this rug are 82" x 52".
