For your consideration is this 1960 first edition copy of “Frederic Remington's Own West” by Harold McCracken. This book was written and illustrated by Frederic Remington, edited with an introduction by Harold McCracken, and published from The Dial Press New York, New York in 1960. An anthology of painter, illustrator, sculptor, and writer Frederic Sackrider Remington’s (1861-1909), illustrated with more than one hundred of his famous drawings, provides an exciting record of the Old West as it once was, with tales of cowboys, Indians, and soldiers. Selected essays arranged to form an autobiographical sequence. An excellent approach to understanding Remington whose works are a history of America's Old West. The condition of this book is good overall, the plum coloured cloth bound gold gilt hardcover is in very good condition with very slight scuffing to cover edges. Intact pages are in good overall condition with age tanning and very slight foxing exhibited, no other obvious marring noted. Illustrated paper dust jacket has some slight tearing and scuffing, age tanning & foxing also noted. Book measures are 7.25"W x 10.25"L x .75"D.
