Featured in this lot is this Quality Industries spring rider toy for playgrounds circa 1975-90s. Quality Industry, now know as Recreation Creations Inc., was started in 1974 and made playground toys and equipment in Hillsdale, Michigan. Quality Industries was founded by Curt Shaneour, who had prior experience in the playground industry, as a Shane Group subsidiary that produced a "standard line of commercial playground and site and park amenities." As Quality Industries expanded, they added cutting-edge products, a huge selection of color choices, and specially made playgrounds. Quality Industries, with its main office in Hillsdale, Michigan, changed its name to Recreation Creations, Inc. in 1996 to more accurately reflect its goal of "creating innovative designs for playgrounds." They expanded their commercial product line by acquiring Next Generations Play, Inc., a producer of early childhood play equipment, four years later, in 2000. This spring rider resembles a sheep and shows colors of white and grey. The toy is constructed from cast aluminum. It has two handle bars on the top for holding onto and two footrests on the bottom. Inside the spring it reads, "Quality Industries / Hillsdale, Mich." and above the spring on the sheep it reads, "Quality Industries Inc.". The toy shows good condition with fading to the original paint and rusting to the metal components on the bottom, such as the spring and footrest, but is still in good display condition. The toy measures 22" L x 13 1/4" W x 19" H.
