For your consideration is this 1976 Williams Electronic Games Incorporated pinball machine titled, "Space Mission" designed by Steve Kordek. Harry Williams established Williams Electronic Games, Inc. (WEG) in Chicago, Illinois, in 1943. WEG was a significant American producer of pinball and arcade games. During the 1950s and 1960s, the company was a leading manufacturer of pinball machines. Later, it diversified into the production of video arcade games and slot machines. "Space Mission" is a pinball machine with a space theme and futuristic graphics and sound effects. There are two flippers and a launcher to launch the ball onto the playfield, as well as a playfield with numerous targets, bumpers, and drop targets. The back glass shows a space scene with a large space craft in the middle of the scene. The top reads, "Williams / Space Mission" in red and white lettering and then goes on to show players 1 through 4 score counters. The back glass shows colors of blue, red, white, light blue, black, yellow, green and orange. The playing board shows many different light up lights and side bumpers. The bottom features two flippers. The playing board also shows a space theme scene with colors of blue, white, teal, black, grey and purple. The pinball machine is missing legs, the glass over the playing field and the top is disconnected from the playing board. The playing board is not connected in the main box and is sunk into the base and is missing internal components and parts to the playing field such as bumpers and targets. The electrical components in the back glass box are intact but the wiring has been cut or broken. The paint is fading and cracking throughout. The pinball machine is in fair to bad condition. The playing field section measures 51 1/2" L x 22" W x 21" H, while the back glass measures 11" L x 30 1/4" W x 27 1/2" H. The top, playing field and box are all separate and only shown together for representation, they are all original to each other.
