Featured in this lot is this Artist Proof chromolithograph by Montana artist Gary Carter, originally from 1990 and called "Paradise in Colter's Hell." The artwork features a mountain man walking beside his horse and holding the reins of two pack horses. The background features a majestic herd of elk and fresh snow covering the ground and the surrounding trees. The artist’s signature can be seen in the bottom right-hand corner with the Artist Proof marking and number 19/85. Gary Carter is a Yellowstone, Montana artist and was inducted into the Cowboy Artist of American (CAA Member) in 1982. Gary Carter was also adopted into the Crow Tribe and Real Bird Family and made a member of the Big Lodge Clan, given the name of “Eagle Man”. The condition of this framed chromolithograph lithograph is good, with no obvious signs of damage. The measurements of this framed chromolithograph are 30 3/4" x 43 1/8" x and the visible art measures 19 3/4" x 32 5/8".
