This is the first issue of Sports Illustrated from August 16, 1954 featuring slugger Eddie Mathews swinging in front of capacity crowd on the cover. The magazine is crisp and clean with no major flaws or defects. The magazine has nice overall appearance and very little corner wear. The binding looks fresh.
