The lot features a set of fully top beaded Cheyenne moccasins with beaded star buffalo hide tops dating to circa 19th-century. These 1800's Indian Wars era moccasins have thick Buffalo / Bison parfleche rawhide hard sole bottoms that are sinew sewn which are both marked "CHEYENNE DARLINGTON AGENCY OKLA". These were collected from the Darlington Agency in Oklahoma from the Cheyenne. The tops have Indian tanned buffalo / bison hide tops which are covered in sinew sewn 19th-century glass trade seed petite beads with a unique five-point star at the center. The beadwork shows a chalk white background with colors of cobalt, greasy yellow, red white heart, Cheyenne pink, and medium blue. The set has a split tongue. The tops have a hardened hide with mostly present beadwork having some bead loss. The moccasins measure 8.5-inch long sole by 3.25-inch wide and 3-inch high.
