Featured in this lot is this particle board poster from Columbia Bicycle, The Pope MFG. Co. circa 19th century and was displayed in the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum; Provenance: From the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum in Tombstone, Arizona. The poster features a wonderfully and professionally crafted particle board construction that shows a man in a Penny Farthing Uniform riding a high wheel bicycle on a track and the poster reads as follows: Columbia Bicycle - 1 mile in 2 minutes 43 seconds by John Keen - 363 miles in 26 consecutive hours by C. Terront Agricultural Hall - 1404 miles in 6 days by C. Waller - 205 miles in 22 hours turnpike road by E. Costen and E. Sythe. - 212 miles in 22 hours 55 min. on the road from London to Bath and return by W.S. Britten - 1/4 mile in 38 5/8 sec Chestnut Hill Boston by G.T. Francis - 100 miles in 7 hours 18min. from Bath to London by F.E. Appleyard - Send 3 cent stamp for catalogue & Price List containing full information to The Pope MFG. Co. - Boston Mass. The condition of this Columbia Bicycle poster is preserved with heavy weathering and wear tot eh poster itself with the corners showing some wear and tear to the particle board poster.
