Featured in this lot is this 19th century "Folding Hands Madonna" oil on tin painting. The painting features a wonderfully and professionally crafted painted wooden frame and shows an oil on metal construciton that shows the likeness of Christendom's "Madonna" figure used in the 14th - 19th century typically to commemorate the Virgin Mary and can be identified by the aura she emits from her head and typically has a child in her hands or has her hands folded. The condition of this framed oil on metal is preserved with some wear to the eyes of the painting and to the painted and carved wooden frame but otherwise shows preserved overall condition. The measurements of the framed artwork is 18 1/2" x 15 1/2" and the visible artwork measures 12 5/8" x 9 5/8".
