The lot features a late-19th-century bi-point stone beaded haft war or dance club from the Northern Plains from the ex-Otto Ernst collection and King Saddlery Museum Sheridan, Wyoming collection. The club exhibits a bi-point stone carved head with a wood haft handle that is completely wrapped in a dark red painted muslin clothe and secured with a strip of parfleche rawhide which is also painted dark red. The club head is painted dark green and the haft has a crazy beaded design showing trade thread sewing with period late-19th century glass trade seed beads. The end has a beaded and Indian hide drop fringe with dark red painted finish. Provenance: Sold by our company back in 2015, the club was part of the Otto Ernst family collection who donated or sold the collection to the King Saddlery Museum in Sheridan, Wyoming. The King Museum later sold the Otto Ernst collection. Otto Ernst was a renowned Saddle Maker and would purchase Native American items to sell in his Saddle shop and Catalog.
