The lot features a 19th Century Plains Native American Indian bone awl from the Sundog Bruce VanLandingham collection. The piece shows a carved bone awl with pierced hole on the end from the Plains Indians. Provenance: From the renowned Sundog Fine Art Bozeman, Montana collection and acquired by Bruce VanLandingham. Bruce VanLandingham was a pillar in the American Indian collecting community and a respected expert. Along with being an avid collector Bruce also was the sole owner of Sundog Fine Art Gallery in Bozeman which was both part museum and gallery. The tip has been repaired. Has the original Sundog tag marked, "PLAINS AWL 19th Cneutry Bone $350 BV0208 SUNDOG FINE ART". Measures overall 7.75"L.
