Featured in this lot is this engraving of Benjamin Franklin by R.W.D. Dodson circa 19th century. This engraving is of an original portrait painting by J.B. Longacre and reads on the front of the engraving as follows: Eng.d by R.W.D. Dodson from a painting by J.B. Longacre after an Original; miniature in possession of W.J. Duane Esq. - Benjamin Franklin - Entered according to the Act of Congress in the year 1835 by James B Longacre in the Clerks Office of the District Court of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. The condition of this engraving is well preserved with some browning to the pages consistent with age but otherwise shows a well preserved overall condition. The measurements of this engraving is 9 3/4" x 6 1/2". The weight of this engraving is U4oz.
