Featured in this lot is this 19th century Southern Plains cross pendant collection. There are two crosses in this collection. The first is the largest and shows a cross design with tooled lines and geometric patterns to the arms of the cross and to the center of the cross and a eyelet drilled into the top of the cross. The second cross shows a hand made design with a smooth demeanor and a eyelet shown at the top of the cross. The condition of this pair of crosses is good with no obvious signs of damage and shows good overall condition. The measurements of this pair of crosses are 1 1/2" x 1" and 1 1/4" x 3/4". Provenance: From the renowned Sundog Fine Art Bozeman, Montana collection and collected by Bruce VanLandingham. Bruce VanLandingham was a pillar in the American Indian collecting community and a respected expert. Along with being an avid collector, Bruce also was the sole owner of Sundog Fine Art Gallery in Bozeman, which was both part museum and gallery. Truly an outstanding example.
