The lot features a wonderful 19th-Century Elk Antler horse quirt with beadwork from the Piegan Blackfeet of Northern Montana from an old Montana collection. The piece exhibits a large Rocky Mountain Elk antler carved and polished with a Buffalo hide wrist throng. The top shows old leather quirt strips inset into the antler and held into place with a metal tack and pin. The quirt is wrapped in old red stroud trace clothe and shows 1800's glass trade seed beads in a greasy light blue petit bead. Measures overall 33-inches long. Antler by itself without wrist throng and whip is 13-inches by 5-inches.
