This is an excellent 19th-century Plains Quilled Horn Spoon from an ex-Hindman Sale and private Paris, France collection. The piece was found to be an authentic 1800’s Plains Horn Spoon by the experts at Hindman Auctions back in September 2021, noted as 19th century Plains Horn Spoon, with Bird Quill Wrappings. The piece shows a large carved horn spoon wrapped in porcupine quill quillwork with over Indian hide parfleche wrap with sinew sewing. This Indian Wars era piece displays beautifully and shows mineral colors of blue, red, and white quillwork. Provenance: From a private Paris, France collection and sold in Hindman’s September 2021 sale for around $550 (w/ bp). Measures overall 10 3/8-inches long by 3.25-inches wide.
