Featured in this lot is this STAMPED Paramount movie costume pitch sketchbook artwork in an ink and watercolor medium by Dave Powell CAA artist and son of Ace Powell. The sketchbook artwork features a wonderfully and professionally crafted ink and watercolor construction that shows the finished product in the bottom left hand corner with the trappers adornments and garments shown seperate to the right of the artwork. The sketchbook movie pitch is marked and labeled as follows: Trapper and Breed - Pokes & Sacks - Handmade with material and sometime old lodge cover. These were made in the years before commercial sacking was made available. - Beads, Buttons horn tip Etc. used for drawstrings - Calico Prints - Cotton Ticking - Dave Powell (his star hallmark). The sketchbook movie costume pitch is stamped with a Paramount stamp in the top right hand corner. Dave Powell (born 1954) is a contemporary Western artist rooted deeply in Montana, with four generations of family heritage tied to the region’s rugged landscape and cowboy culture. The son of artists Ace Powell and Nancy McLaughlin Powell, Dave inherited a rich artistic lineage. Primarily self-taught, Dave began serious art training in his mid-teens. He benefited from mentorship and collaboration with celebrated Western artists, including Bob Scriver, Ned Jacob, Robert Lougheed, and Joe Beeler, the founder of the Cowboy Artists of America (CAA). Dave Powell’s deep knowledge of historical Western clothing and gear led him to work with Paramount Pictures, where he pitched and advised on authentic movie costumes. Drawing on his expertise in cowboy and Native American attire, he helped ensure the wardrobe designs accurately reflected the period, adding realism and credibility to the studio’s Western productions. The condition of this sketchbook movie pitch is well preserved with no obvious signs of damage with some browning to the paper but otherwise shows a well preserved overall condition. The measurements of this sketchbook pitch is 14" x 11". The collective weight of this sketchbook movie pitch is U4oz.,
