The knife features a bowie knife blade with heavy construction, showing a slight clip point, a false edge, and nice authentic patina and coloring with slight spotting. The blade is marked with a trident shaped “T”, a maker whose name ends in “MORE”, along with “CAST STEEL” and “NTED”. The knife has a square hidden tang with thick heavy brass/ bronze hilt cross guard, very old stag horn antler grip, and copper pommel end with peened over stud. The horn has a deep yellow to brown coloring with chipping and rot from long, honest age and use, a true testament to the piece’s early age. The piece measures 13 7/8”L, with a blade that is 8.5”L and a hilt that is 3.5”W.
