This lot features a mid-19th Century musket rifle from the American Frontier. The musket shows a primitive ball and cap exposed side hammer receiver in wood stock, all with heavy wear. The barrel shows rawhide Native American wrappings and later brass covered metal tacks from the 20th Century. The rifle displays beautifully and is an early trade rifle example. The hammer pulls back but does not hold, as it doesn't appear to function. Original iron ramrod attached. Measures overall 51.5"L. Since this is considered an antique firearm, NO FFL required.*
