Featured in this lot is this mixed media lithograph called "Being with the Ancestors" by Jim Yellowhawk circa 2019. The artwork features a wonderfully and professionally crafted mixed media lithograph that shows a globe with a red hand in the center with Native warriors riding in the stars with a buffalo and a dragonfly. The artist signature can is shown in the bottom left of the globe and in the outside right corner of the lithograph. The artwork is numbered 4/50 and shows the title in the top left hand corner of the globe. Jim Yellowhawk is a contemporary Native American artist of Lakota and Iroquois heritage, born in 1958 in South Dakota. As of now, he is still living and actively contributing to the art world. Yellowhawk is known for his mixed-media work that blends traditional Native themes with modern techniques, including ledger art, painting, and digital illustration. He often incorporates symbolism, cultural motifs, and vibrant colors to express Indigenous identity and storytelling. His art has been widely exhibited across the United States and internationally, and he has played a significant role in revitalizing and preserving Native artistic traditions while pushing them into new creative spaces. Through both his personal work and educational outreach, Yellowhawk has had a lasting impact on the Native art community. The condition of this of this lithograph is well preserved with no obvious signs of damage to the artwork or the frame and shows an overall well preserved condition. The measurements of this framed lithograph is 19 1/2" x 19 1/2" and the visible artwork measures 16 1/2" x 16 1/2". The collective weight of this framed lithograph is 4lb.
