Featured in this lot is this original "Crow Hopper" from Crow Native American artist Leland Stewart. Stewart was a member of the Crow Nation, Whistling Water Clan, and the High Hawk Society. He graduated from the Institute of the American Indian Arts in 1975. Stewart's artwork is featured in Montana fine art galleries and beyond. Many of Stewart’s works can be found at the Sam Terakedis Fine Art & Jewelry Gallery. Some examples of prices for his art include $6,200 for Two Sisters in the Bear Paws; $5,500 for Uncle Buffalo; $6,000 for The Visitor. The painting features a Crow hopping Native American man ceremonially dancing around a fire with four individuals sitting around it. The artwork is signed in the bottom right-hand corner and the piece is dated 2020, a year before his death. The condition of this original painting is good, with no obvious signs of damage. The measurements of this original painting are 24" x 18". Leland only made two works of the Crow Hopper with this being the only example on the public market and one of, if not the, last paintings directly from the artist before his death.
