The lot features a forged iron tomahawk with weeping heart cutout at the center, from the 20th Century. The head shows signs of being blacksmith forged having a hammered irregular surface. The tomahawk head has a tear drop eyelet / eye hole with flaring Western heavy iron axe head showing a rear spur and cutout at the center of the blade of a weeping heart. The head is secured to the solid hardwood haft handle which has a tappered carved pattern with dark green painted finish. There are some nicks and chips from the haft which shows an old darker wood, likely an original haft. The handle is accented by contemporary added round shank brass covered metal tacks. The piece is from the 20th Century, possibly early. Measures overall 20.5"L with the head being 6.5"L by 3 5/8" wide across the bottom of the blade.
