Included in this lot is a collection of .222 Rem. Mag. 55 grain soft point ammunition. The .222 Remington Magnum was a short-lived commercially produced cartridge derived from the .222 Remington. Originally developed for a US military prototype Armalite AR-15 rifle in 1958, the cartridge was not adopted by the military, but was introduced commercially in sporting rifles. This collection of .222 Rem. Mag. is compromised of six boxes of Remington High Velocity, two boxes of Remington Hi-Speed and one partial box of Peters High Velocity. Each box is 55 grains and soft point construction. The boxes measure approximately 4 ¾” x 2 ½” x 1 1/8”.
