Featured in this lot is this 3 1/4" rare early perforating flared drill point circa Archaic period through the Late Prehistoric period or 8000–1000 BCE. The point features the tapering diamond shape blade cross section and shows a bi-facial flaking. The shoulders are sharp at the tip and rounded at the base in an ovoid design. The point is knapped from a brown flecked flint material. The condition of this perforating drill point is preserved with the side of the drill tip showing a chip in it but otherwise shows a preserved condition. The measurements of this drill point is 3 1/4" x 2 1/8". The collective weight of this point is 27.1g.
