Featured in this lot is this 3.88ct Tanzanite VS1 diamond and 18k white gold ring with AIG paperwork. The ring features a wonderfully and professionally crafted 18k white gold construction that shows a 'Oscar Friedman' hallmark along with a '18k' gold stamp next to the hallmark. The rings centerstone is a bezel set octagonal standard step cut tanzanite gemstone that shows measurements of 12.20 x 7.20 x 4.60mm and shows a eye clean clarity that is considered type I and is medium dark, moderately strong blue color. The center stone is profusely decorated with a total of 22 round brilliant cut diamonds that shows measurements of 2.20 - 1.95 x 1.25mm and shows a VS1 to SI2 clarity and a E - G coloration with a total diamond weight of 0.74 carats. Tanzanite Is a very rare precious gemstone that is only found in the Usumburu Mountains that border the Umba Valley of northern Tanzania. Originally discovered in 1967 by Tiffany & Company who named the stone Tanzanite. Tanzantite is unique due to its exceptional pleochroism (an optical phenomenon in which a stone has different colors when observed at different angles). This example is a nearly flawless eye clarity and unbelievable depth with transparent finish. The piece comes complete with AIG(American International Gemologists, a GIA certified lab AIG Appraisal Number#: 000722076009) report and appraisal confirming the above info and giving a total value of $16,000.00. The ring size is US 7. This ring has Onyx accents on the outer shoulders of the ring.
