Featured in this lot is this 4 1/2" Nodena Cluster Point circa 1,400 to 1,650 CE. The point features a wonderfully and professionally crafted reddish brown flint material that shows a cluster design, quite short and ovoid with rounded tapered point but sharpend serrated edge all the way around the point. This point is considered the "classic" version of the Nodena point family and is shorter than the full spear-like Nodena examples. The Nodena Banks and Classic points are from the Nodena culture was centered in what is now northeastern Arkansas, and its archaeological sites date from around 1400 to 1650 CE. The condition of this projectile point is preserved with no artificial breaks or wear with some mineral deposits of quartz throughout but otherwise shows a preserved condition. The overall measurements of the point is 4 1/2" x 2 3/8" x 1". The collective weight of this point is 4oz.
