Featured in this lot is this 6.28 carats trillion tanzanite and diamond, platinum ring with AIGL and GIA paperwork. The ring features a polished, stamped, and tested platinum ring with a bright finish and an 'Orianne' hallmark and 'PT950' stamp. The center stone is a triangular trillion cut tanzanite with measurements of 11.88mm x 12.10mm x 7.16mm and a total weight of 6.28 carats; it features bluish violet color and is transparent with a GIA report. The center stone and pave shoulders are decorated with a total of 31 round brilliant cut diamonds with measurements of 1.8mm, a total weight of 0.73 carats, clarity of VS1 – VS2, and a color gradient of F - G. Tanzanite is a very rare precious gemstone that is only found in the Usumburu Mountains that border the Umba Valley of northern Tanzania. It was originally discovered in 1967 by Tiffany & Company, who named the stone Tanzanite. This example is unique due to its exceptional pleochroism (an optical phenomenon in which a stone has different colors when observed at different angles). The piece comes complete with AIGL Inc. (American International Gemological Laboratories, Inc. a GIA certified lab AIGL#: K91E95-EA15305) report and appraisal, confirming the above info and giving a total value of $23,894.00. GIA (Gemological Institute of America) Tanzanite Grading Report#: 6203917870. The ring size is US 7 1/4.
