Featured in this lot is this complete Renaissance Edition set of, "A History of Painting" including Volumes 1-8 by Haldane Macfall and published by Dana Estes & Company circa 1911. This set of books contains 200 plates in color and extensive history on painters and artists off the time and how they influenced the world of art in their years and years to come. The volumes included are as follows - 1. Renaissance in Central Italy; 2. Renaissance in Venice; 3. Later Italians. Genius of Spain; 4. Renaissance in the North Flemish Genius; 5. The Dutch Genius; 6. The French Genius; 7. The British Genius; 8. The Modern Genius. The books are bound in a green hard cover and feature gold gilt lettering on the spine showing the title, the volume name and number and an image of paint brushes and a palette. The books measure 11 5/16" L x 8 5/16" W x 1 7/8" D to 11 5/16" L x 8 5/16" W x 1 5/8" D. They have a collective weight of 27 pounds and 2 ounces.
