Featured in this lot we have an Acoma Native American Indian polychrome pottery effigy figure of an owl originating form circa 1900 to 1920. The piece is done in the classic early stylings and is truly a wonderful original rare effigy. The early 20th Century piece shows a handmade pottery construction with polychrome mineral pigment painted design in white, black/brown and red/orange showing a feather and features design. The rotund figure shows an owl having protruding wings, a tail, and facial features / ears. The base is signed reading "Acoma Joyce C." on the bottom. The piece shows good condition overall and measures 2 3/4" tall by 2 1/2" wide.
