For your consideration is this First Edition (1906) copy of "Across the Plains and Over the Divide; A Mule Train Journey from East to West in 1862, and Incidents Connected Therewith". Please note: this is a re-bound, ex-library copy from the Butte-Silverbow Public Library. The book had been in the Montana Case of the Reference section; it was not circulated. The has red boards and spine with black/ gold decoration and yellow lettering on the spine. The binding is tight and the text is free from any markings. It does have typical library markings, and is also damp-stained throughout(see photos). This book was called, "One of the best Oregon Trail narratives." Howes H457. The book is illustrated with 58 plates from photographs, drawings, engravings, etc. It has a folding map and is 521 pages long. The book measures 5" x 7.5" x 1.25".
