This lot features a direct mail advertising booklet from the publishing company, Brown & Bigelow, titled "Lawson Wood's Monkey Business" and dated 1958-59, as seen on the spiral booklet spine. Lawson Wood was a British painter, illustrator, and designer known for his comical depictions of animals, policeman, cavemen, and dinosaurs. His most famous character was Gran’pop, a ginger-haired ape. The popularity extended to merchandise, such as pottery, calendars, postcards, cigarette cards, and direct mail advertising.
