Offered in this lot is an African, handcrafted beaded mask with brass inlays of the Baluba tribe style. The mask is hand carved from wood that is painted black. There is beading around the eyes in orange and blue beads. Over the nose and on the upper lip are yellow, black, and white beads. In the center of the forehead is a star made of six brass diamonds. Around the face and on the eyelids are brass triangles. The mask measures 6" across and has a small leather tab on the back for hanging. This is a classic example of a Baluba mask that is in good condition.
