Featured in this lot is a framed print of an African Kudu portrait signed by Bierly and originating from 1972. Edward J. Bierly (1920-2004) is an American wildlife painter known for his depictions of African and American wild life. He was born in Buffalo, New York and spent much of his childhood drawing and painting. After serving four years in WWII, he graduated from the University of Buffalo and worked as an exhibit designer for the National Parks Service. The print displays a portrait style depiction of an African Kudu. The piece shows the unique twisting horns and white stripe designs of a realistic depiction of an African Kudu. The piece is signed in the bottom right hand corner, reading "Bierly 1972". The print features a wonderful realistic art style and design. The piece shows a green paper boarder with a wooden frame. The piece shows good condition overall, with some light wear across the frame. The frame measures 22 1/2" wide by 30" tall, with the art measuring 15 1/2" wide by 22 3/4" tall.
